Stage 1 & 2 English Program

The Stage 1 & 2 English Program is suitable for adult learners who need classes at a Canadian Language Benchmark Levels 1 to 6.

 

Who is eligible for Stage 1 &2 classes?

Stage 1& 2 classes are for Newcomers who:

  • Are 18 years of age or older;
  • Have lived in Canada for  8 years or less (exceptions can be made);
  • Are legally entitled to work in Canada (hold a valid Social Insurance Number and/or a valid work permit);
  • Are  permanent residents or Canadian Citizens who are not eligible for, or cannot access, federal English classes;
  • Have not received a CLBPT assessment within the last six months and have not been actively participating in a CLB referenced program during that period; or
  • Need a CLB assessment for employment planning or professional licensing reasons.

 

Please note: Before registering in one of these programs, ALL participants require a Language Benchmark Test provided by one of the following centres:
