CareerNet is helping newcomers launch careers
CareerNet has openings for Mentees and Mentors! CareerNet is a unique program that helps Newcomers establish careers in Canada.
Through the CareerNet Program, participants will acquire:
- Knowledge, skills and resources to prepare for employment in the Saskatchewan labour market;
- Industry-specific knowledge, network opportunities and community connections to assist with their job search;
- Knowledge of the broader community through professional and social networks, and build multi-cultural awareness and understanding, and;
- The skills to secure and maintain employment in the Saskatchewan labour market.
CareerNet consists of three components
- Virtual employment skills training,
- Professional mentoring, and,
- One-to-one access to Employment Counsellors.
The virtual employment skills training focuses on career development and employability skills for professionals through the curriculum, pairing clients with a mentor, and providing access to one-on-one counselling through employment counselling services.
